Fireborne by Rosaria Munda left me speechless. I already know this review will not be able to do this book justice, so please go read this one for yourself!
Summary
Annie and Lee were orphaned during a revolution that changed their way of life as small children. Annie’s lowborn family was executed by dragonfire and Lee’s highborn family was murdered by the revolutionaries.
When survivors of the old regime (Lee’s family) surface to take back their city, Lee must choose between his family or the regime he believes in. On the other hand, Annie must choose between her best friend and the way of life she loves.
Review
This book has everything to keep you hooked. Dragons, complex political agendas, great characters, dragons, morally gray conflicts, and also dragons! (I love books with dragons!)
Fireborne is darker and more complex than your typical YA series. There are no good guys or bad guys, and each character has to make choices that they can live with.
Besides the amazing storyline, I loved that the romance aspect was not the main focus of the plot. I was so interested in the decisions the characters were making and didn’t care who anyone was in a relationship with. The choices of these characters truly drive the story and make it unpredictable. Just when I thought I had Annie or Lee figured out, they would do something that would blindside me.
