The Queen’s Shadow by E.K. Johnston looks deeper into Padme’s character and her relationship with the handmaidens. This book is perfect for Star Wars fans or anyone wanting to read a story in the franchise.
This book made 8 year old me really freaking happy. Like jump for joy, squeal happy. Man I’m old… have always thought the Star Wars movies did Padme wrong. She was turned into a love sick puppy and skipped all of the good she did politically.
Summary
There are three books in the series that take place in between and sometimes parallel to the movies. This one is between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. It describes Padme, adjusting to her new life as a senator for Naboo.
After being queen, she has to learn how to be senator.
Review
I loved how it expands on everything fans have seen and it gives insight to other characters I didn’t know much about. This book (and the rest of the series) are fun to read and have a great story line.
I promise to stop fan-girling! Just go read it for yourself!
I highly recommend listening to the audiobook for this series. The sound effects and the Star Wars music throughout the book are amazing!
